BBMS International Night

Banneker International Night

International Night is coming Tuesday, April 30, from 6-8 PM! We look forward to celebrating the rich traditions of the many cultures in our school community.  This year our program will include a special performance of music from around the world by the National Philharmonic, a student fashion show, and displays representing the cultural heritage of Banneker families.

We need your help to make this event happen! Would you host a table representing your country or culture? Bring a dish to share for our food tasting? Or help on April 30 with setup or cleanup? Please fill out the form at the link below to let us know how you can participate. Please contact Beverly Mullen Beverly_J_Mullen@mcpsmd.org  or 301-989-5747 with any questions.

October 9, 2018

6:30-7:00 General PTSA Meeting

7:00-8:30 The Signs of Suicide Parent Training

Banneker parents/guardians: You are invited to attend a very special and highly important training on October 9th during the PTSA meeting (6:30PM).

MCPS has suffered great losses of student lives to suicide in these recent years, so to help parents become more informed we are providing a one-time parent training session on The Signs of Suicide. This training precedes the classroom lessons students will be receiving this fall.

Please register via Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com/e/signs-of-suicide-parent-training-tickets-50171748049

Suicide affects people across racial, ethnic, gender, and age groups. Often times parents ask “why” and “how did I miss this?” This fall MCPS secondary schools are providing parent training on The Signs of Suicide. This very important training will be facilitated by the Banneker Student Support Services Team (counselors, school psychologist and PPW).
